Springdale Farm raises and milks registered Jersey and Guernsey dairy cattle in Waldo, Maine. Colby and Lois Whitcomb purchased their farm in 1951 and through the years, with the help of their five children, built a heritage of productive vibrant cows and high quality milk. In the early years of the farm Lois and Colby grew a market garden, had an egg delivery route and sold sides of beef and lamb alongside sales of their milk. Colby's parents, Eben and Nellie Whitcomb, purchased their homestead on Birches Road in Waldo in 1917. They milked cows and turned the cream into butter, which was taken by train to be sold at Faneuil Hall in Boston. With this rich farming heritage, the grand kids, Carrie and Holly Whitcomb are excited to take the farm back to its roots by direct marketing farm products to the community.
